MLA Basics - 9th Edition (2021)

  • A list of sources cited in your paper is entitled: Works Cited
  • The MLA template of core elements provides a quick guide and some example citations. The name of a core element can cover a a variety of situations, e.g. the Author might be an individual, a group, an organization, or a government.
  • The Works Cited list is alphabetized by authors' last names (or by title in the case of works with no author).
  • The list should include all sources from which you have quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.
