Avery indexes international scholarly and popular periodical literature, the publications of professional associations, US state and regional periodicals, and the major serial publications published worldwide on architecture and design, archaeology, city planning, interior design, and historic preservation. Expanded coverage includes obituary citations, providing biographical data (often the only information available for less-published architects).

CRL holds over four million newspapers, journals, doctoral dissertations, archives, government publications, and other traditional and digital research collections. The Center has special strength in publications and archives from many countries.

Coverage: varies. Includes over 1,000 leading academic journals as well as select monographs and other materials valuable for academic work. For most JSTOR titles, the most recent years of publication are not covered. If you want the most recent scholarship on a topic, you should probably try another database. However, current issues for selected journals are available on JSTOR as part of the Current Scholarship Program.
